Accessibility

Last updated: June 10, 2026

WorkCA is committed to making our job board usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. We aim to align with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA and with the accessibility expectations of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

Our approach

Accessibility is part of how we build and maintain WorkCA. We work toward:

  • Clear structure using semantic HTML and meaningful headings.
  • Keyboard navigability of interactive elements.
  • Sufficient colour contrast and readable text.
  • Descriptive labels for buttons, links, and form fields.
  • Alternative text for meaningful images.
  • A bilingual interface (English and French) so users can work in their preferred language.

Ongoing effort

Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a one-time task. As we add features, we test and refine the experience. Some third-party content — such as aggregated job listings sourced from external providers — is outside our direct control, but we strive to present it as accessibly as we can.

For employers

If you post jobs on WorkCA, you remain responsible for your own accessibility obligations in your hiring process, including notifying applicants that accommodations are available during recruitment where required by law.

Feedback & accommodation

If you encounter an accessibility barrier on WorkCA, or need this information in an alternative format, we want to hear from you. Contact us at support@work-ca.ca and we will do our best to help and to address the issue.
